Samsung stoves,
specifically.

Samsung sells freestanding and slide-in stoves in gas, electric and induction versions, many with Wi-Fi and a split oven. When something goes wrong they tend to say so on the display, with a C- code or a plain word such as door, which gives a visit a head start.

The Samsung lineup

What is particular
to Samsung.

This page draws on Samsung's range and wall oven code page and on the user manuals for the NX60A6711SS gas and NE63A6711 electric stoves. Induction, slide-in and split-oven models add behavior of their own, so the model label is read first.

A grill lighter in a blackout

Samsung's gas stove manual says the burners can be lit by hand when the power is out: hold a long gas grill lighter at the burner, push in the knob and turn it to Lite. The oven is a different story, since its electric ignition should not be tried without power.

The oven waits after an outage

If the power drops while the oven is in its Sabbath setting, the oven does not start again on its own and SAb shows on the panel. That is by design, so a dark, idle oven after a storm is not by itself a sign of damage.

Knobs and leaning

Samsung warns that leaning on the stove can turn the knobs without anyone noticing, and it recommends the control and door lockout to keep children from using it. A burner found on after someone leaned against the front is worth that lockout.

A divider with its own switch

Samsung ovens that split into two compartments sense the divider with a switch at the back wall. If the divider sits in the wrong slot, or something presses that switch, the display shows -dE- or -dC- instead of heating.

Parts

Samsung prints different code tables for its gas and electric stoves, so the model and code together decide which board, sensor or lock is ordered. Parts lead times were not checked on a Samsung source.

Repair or replace

Many Samsung calls end with a setting, a blocked vent or a divider put back in its slot, which costs no part at all. On a newer stove with a single failed sensor, lock or board, repair is usually the sensible path.

Questions about
Samsung stoves.

Can I light my Samsung gas stove when the power is out?
The burners, yes: Samsung says to hold a long gas grill lighter to the burner, push in the knob and turn it to Lite. Do not try the oven, since its electric ignition needs power.
My Samsung oven will not restart after a power cut and shows SAb. Is it broken?
No. If the oven was in the Sabbath setting when the power dropped, Samsung has it stay off after power returns. Food can be taken out safely, and the setting is turned off after the observance.
How do I keep children from turning on my Samsung stove?
Samsung recommends its control and door lockout feature. It also warns that leaning on the front can turn a knob by accident, so keep that area clear.
Why does my Samsung stove show -dE- when I bake?
The oven divider is missing, loose or in the wrong slot for the mode you chose. Seat it all the way in, or pick a mode that uses the whole oven.
