KitchenAid stoves,
specifically.
KitchenAid sells gas, electric, dual-fuel and induction stoves, plus commercial-style gas stoves up to 48 inches that are run by knobs with colored lights. Those commercial-style models speak in amber and white lights, and the KitchenAid app shows the code behind them.

KitchenAid builds 3 of the 4 stove types this site covers. Which one decides how the visit is planned.
All stove typesWhat is particular
to KitchenAid.
KitchenAid covers standard freestanding and slide-in stoves with touch controls, and commercial-style gas stoves with knobs. The two use different signals, so we ask which one you have.
Amber means error, white means a step was missed
On KitchenAid commercial-style stoves, amber lights with a tone are an error signal. White blinking lights usually mean Start was pressed too soon, which is fixed at the knobs.
The app reads the code for you
If a commercial-style stove is registered in the KitchenAid app, the error shows under Settings, Service and Support, Appliance Error. Having that code ready saves time on the visit.
A lock that also locks the door
The KitchenAid control lock shuts down the pads and locks the oven door. An oven door that will not open with LOC on the display is locked, not broken.
Some codes go to an electrician
KitchenAid sends F9E0 on commercial-style stoves to an electrician to check the power supply. After a remodel, that is where to start.
Parts
Standard KitchenAid stoves share many parts with other Whirlpool-built stoves. Commercial-style burners, knobs and trim are more specific and can take longer.
Repair or replace
A commercial-style KitchenAid is almost always worth repairing. On standard models, repair makes sense for all but a control board failure on an older stove.
