What C-30
actually means.

Samsung puts a small temperature sensor on the main control board. C-30 means that sensor opened or shorted, C-31 means the board temperature rose abnormally high, and the gas manual adds C-22 for the same board sensor check. The oven stops working until the board is back in range.

What to do when C-30 shows on the stove

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for C-30 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press OFF/CLEAR and let the stove cool, especially after a long bake or self-clean.

02

Make sure the back of the stove is not pushed against something that blocks air around it.

03

Switch the breaker off for at least 30 seconds and turn it back on.

04

If C-30 or C-31 returns, book a visit; Samsung's manual sends C-31 straight to service.

Still there?

It usually turns into control board and display repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

These codes are not about the oven's own temperature sensor. That one is C-20; C-30 and C-31 concern the board inside the control panel.

Questions
about C-30.

Can I clear C-30 myself?
Press OFF/CLEAR and let the stove cool, especially after a long bake or self-clean. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What is the difference between C-30 and C-31 on my Samsung stove?
C-30 means the board's small sensor circuit is open or shorted. C-31 means the board really did get too warm, which Samsung treats as a service call.
Why does my Samsung stove show C-31 after self-clean?
Self-clean pushes a lot of heat toward the controls. If the board overheats during the cycle, the code appears; if it keeps happening, the cooling path or the board needs checking.
Will a breaker reset clear C-30 on my Samsung for good?
It can clear a one-time glitch. A code that returns after the reset means the board sensor or the board needs to be tested.

Still showing C-30?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
