Hestan stoves,

What is particular
to Hestan.

Hestan's stoves come as all-gas (KRG), dual-fuel (KRD, and KRDS with the Smart Burner) and induction (KRI) models. The model letters decide which code table and which parts apply.

Each burner lights itself

Hestan gives each sealed burner a spark module of its own that senses the flame and relights it. When one burner will not light or keeps sparking, we can test that burner's module on its own.

Knobs off after an outage

After a power failure, a Hestan stove shows an error when power returns unless every knob is already OFF. It is a safety check, and setting the knobs to OFF clears it.

Some codes are not urgent

Hestan lists ERR04, ERR05, ERR08 and ERR20 as non-critical: the oven can keep working without the affected feature until service. Any other oven code means stop using the oven.

Two kinds of oven

The dual-fuel models have an electric oven with a MarquiseDisplay on the handle and self-cleaning, which the all-gas models lack. That changes which oven parts and which door parts a repair involves.

Parts

Spark modules, igniters and burner parts are shared across many Hestan gas models, while Smart Burner and induction parts are specific. Some are ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

Hestan stoves are built with separate modules for each burner, so most repairs replace one module, igniter or sensor. Replacement is rarely the answer unless the oven control and several modules have failed together.

Why does my Hestan stove show an error every time the power comes back?
Hestan shows an error on power-up unless all the knobs were already OFF, so nothing starts by surprise. Setting every knob to OFF clears it.
Can I light my Hestan burners during a power outage?
The manual allows lighting the sealed burners by hand with a match or fireplace lighter, with all knobs first set to OFF. Light one burner at a time, and stop if you smell gas.
My Hestan burner keeps sparking with the flame lit. Is that a problem?
An occasional spark on a very low simmer can come from a draft. Hestan says sparking with a steady flame may mean a wiring problem, so book a visit.
Is ERR04 on my Hestan oven serious?
Hestan treats it as non-critical: the oven can keep working without the feature involved. Try a breaker reset and book service soon.
