What C-20
actually means.

C-20 is Samsung's code for the oven sensor itself. The electric manual lists two versions of the problem, a sensor circuit that opens while the oven is running and one that has shorted, and the gas manual calls it an oven sensor malfunction. Either way the control has no usable reading, so it will not keep baking.

What to do when C-20 shows on the stove

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for C-20 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press OFF/CLEAR, then start the bake again and watch whether the code returns.

02

If it does, switch the stove's breaker off, wait at least 30 seconds and switch it back on.

03

Use the burners or elements on top if they still work, but leave the oven off until it is checked.

04

When C-20 survives the breaker reset, book a visit so the sensor and its harness can be measured.

What not to do

C-20 does not mean your oven actually got too hot. Samsung gives the overheated oven its own number, C-21, so the two call for different checks.

Questions
about C-20.

Can I clear C-20 myself?
Press OFF/CLEAR, then start the bake again and watch whether the code returns. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My Samsung stove shows C-20 halfway through baking. Is the food safe to finish?
The oven stops regulating heat once it loses its sensor reading, so the dish may be underdone. Take it out, finish it on the stovetop or in another appliance, and reset the stove before you try the oven again.
Can I keep using the burners on my Samsung while C-20 is on the display?
Samsung ties C-20 to the oven sensor, not to the top. If the burners or elements still respond normally, they can be used while you wait for the oven to be checked.
Why does C-20 come back on my Samsung stove only after the oven warms up?
A sensor or connector that opens only when it heats and expands can read fine at room temperature. That pattern is common with a tired sensor lead, and a technician can confirm it with a meter while the oven is warm.

Still showing C-20?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
