Not every burner lights by hand

In a power failure, Thermador says the standard burners can be lit with a match but the ExtraLow burners must not be. If a knob was turned on with no power, it asks you to turn it off and wait 5 minutes for the gas to clear first.

An oven that switches itself off

Thermador limits how long its oven heats: 24 hours in most modes and 74 hours in Sabbath mode. An oven found off after a long, forgotten bake has done what it was built to do.

TIMERS is the lock key

On the Pro Grand and Pro Harmony stoves read for this page, holding TIMERS for 4 seconds locks every touch key. A panel that suddenly ignores you may just be locked.

Induction guards itself

Thermador's induction models switch off a zone that has run untouched for a long time, and warn with F5 when a hot pan sits by the controls. Both clear with a touch once the cause is gone.

Parts

Pro-style Thermador stoves use burner, igniter and control parts specific to the model and fuel type, so the label is read before anything is ordered. Parts availability was not confirmed on a Thermador source.

Repair or replace

A panel lock, a time-limit shutoff or a burner relit by hand after an outage needs no part. These stoves are built into the kitchen's design, so repairing the failed part is nearly always the first choice.
