Some Maytag stoves have Energy Save, which blanks the display after five idle minutes and shows ES first. A dark display that wakes when you press Bake is working as designed.

POWER LOSS after an outage

After a power cut, a Maytag stove shows 12:00 or POWER LOSS and anything that was cooking has stopped. Press Cancel, set the clock and start again.

A stovetop lock that leaves two keys

On Maytag electric stoves with glass controls, the Control Lock blocks every key except Power and Off. Hold LOCK for three seconds to release it.

Call Service is not always a big repair

Maytag's Call Service message starts with pressing Cancel and a power reset. It is a general message, and the reset sometimes clears it for good.
