Bertazzoni stoves,
specifically.

Bertazzoni builds its stoves in Guastalla, Italy, and its Heritage series takes its knobs and handles from the wood-burning stoves the family made at the start of the last century. In the US it sells all-gas, dual-fuel and induction stoves from 24 to 48 inches in the Professional, Master and Heritage series.

The Bertazzoni lineup

What is particular
to Bertazzoni.

All-gas Bertazzoni stoves come in 24, 30, 36 and 48 inches; the dual-fuel models pair brass burners with electric self-clean ovens, and the induction models carry up to six zones and a cast-iron griddle. The series and the fuel on the rating label decide which manual we work from.

Old-style looks, current workings

The Heritage series borrows its handles and knobs from Bertazzoni's original stove design, but the fuel choices are the same as in the other two series. The rating label, not the styling, tells us which manual and parts apply.

Keep the knob turned on high

A thermocouple sits beside every Bertazzoni surface burner and cuts the gas if the flame dies. Bertazzoni's tip: light with the knob at high and keep holding for four to five seconds, which gives the sensor time to warm up.

Clicking after a wipe-down

When the igniters keep sparking, Bertazzoni's first question is whether the top is still wet from cleaning or a boil-over. Switch the stove off and let it dry fully; sparking that continues on a dry top needs a technician.

Warm air over the oven door

A Bertazzoni is built to sit flush at counter depth, so its oven and cooling air escape through a slim gap just above the oven door. Bertazzoni says that warm breath is normal; only heat that seems far stronger than usual needs a look.

Parts

Bertazzoni sends parts through a named distributor, and its FAQ says owners are free to use a servicer outside its network. Bertazzoni's pages give no lead times, so we check availability when ordering.

Repair or replace

When a Bertazzoni misbehaves, the trouble is nearly always in a single burner, igniter, element or control, and any of those can be swapped without touching the rest. A new stove is worth discussing only if an older unit loses several major parts at once.

Questions about
Bertazzoni stoves.

Why does my Bertazzoni stove keep clicking after I cleaned the top?
Water left around the burners after cleaning or a boil-over is the first thing Bertazzoni asks about. Turn the stove off and give it time to dry completely; if the clicking starts again on a dry top, book a visit.
Is the warm air coming out above my Bertazzoni oven door normal?
Yes. Bertazzoni says the counter-depth design sends convection and cooling air out through a small gap above the door, and calls that warm exhaust normal. Book a visit only if the heat there seems far stronger than usual.
How do I light the oven on an all-gas Bertazzoni stove?
Open the oven door, push the temperature knob in and hold it for two seconds, let go, then turn it counterclockwise all the way to maximum; when the ticking stops, choose your temperature and shut the door. An oven burner that still will not stay alight needs a visit, and a smell of gas means leaving the house and phoning the gas utility from outside.
My Bertazzoni oven display is on but the oven stays cold. Why?
Check the setup menu for the showroom function, which is meant for retailers and lets the display run without heating. If showroom is off and the oven still stays cold, book a visit.
