Bertazzoni induction zone flashing A with a number

An A on the zone display is Bertazzoni's heating accelerator: the zone runs at peak power first, for longer or shorter depending on the level you set next.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for A on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Nothing is needed; the zone drops back to your chosen level by itself.

02

To stop the boost early, turn the knob down and A switches off.

03

Stay near the pan, since peak power brings liquids to a boil quickly.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

A flashing A with a number is not an error. It shows a boost you selected, often by turning the knob past zero the other way.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems A tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

In Bertazzoni's own words

The Heating Accelerator mode allows each zone to be operated at peak power for a time proportional to the heating power selected.

Questions
about A.

Can I clear A myself?
Nothing is needed; the zone drops back to your chosen level by itself.
Why does my Bertazzoni zone blink between A and 5?
The heating accelerator is on: the zone runs at peak power for a while before settling at 5. It is working as designed.
How do I cancel the A boost on my Bertazzoni?
Turn the knob down. Bertazzoni's manual says lowering the power switches the accelerator off automatically.
My Bertazzoni boils over when A is showing. Is something wrong?
No, A means the zone is at peak power, so pots heat fast. Lower the setting or skip the accelerator for delicate dishes.

Back to your everyday

Still showing A?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
