Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for tESt on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look for tESt or tE5t on the display to confirm it is Demo mode.

02

Follow the Demo mode steps in your model's Samsung user manual to switch it off.

03

Run the oven for a few minutes to make sure it heats, and book a visit if the display keeps returning to Demo mode.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

tESt is not a broken heating element or igniter. Nothing needs replacing until Demo mode is turned off and the stove is tried again.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems tESt tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

In Samsung's own words

The range is in Demo mode. The oven and cooktop will not heat. (Gas cooktops will still ignite.)

Questions
about tESt.

Can I clear tESt myself?
Look for tESt or tE5t on the display to confirm it is Demo mode.
Why do the burners on my Samsung gas stove light but the oven stays cold with tESt showing?
In Demo mode Samsung lets gas burners ignite while the oven does not heat. Turn Demo mode off and the oven should work again.
How did my Samsung stove get into Demo mode?
It is often left on from a showroom or turned on by a press-and-hold combination on the panel. Your model's manual shows the combination to switch it off.
Can a power outage put my Samsung stove into tESt mode?
Samsung does not say so. If tESt keeps coming back after you switch it off, book a visit so the control can be checked.

Back to your everyday

Still showing tESt?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
