Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for Cooktop in use on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn every burner or element knob to off.

02

Check the display for any zone still showing a setting.

03

Start Self Clean again, and book a visit if the message stays with all the knobs off.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

This message does not mean the oven is broken. It is Samsung's reminder that the top and Self Clean cannot run together.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems Cooktop in use tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about Cooktop in use.

Can I clear Cooktop in use myself?
Turn every burner or element knob to off.
All my knobs are off but my Samsung still says a burner is in use. Why?
A knob switch that no longer reads off, or a knob seated wrong on its stem, can make the control think a burner is on. If a burner also stays hot with the knob off, switch the breaker off and book a visit.
Can I run the burners on my Samsung while it self-cleans?
No. Samsung blocks Self Clean while the top is on, and the top should stay off until the cycle ends.
Why did my Samsung block Self Clean right after dinner?
A warming zone or a burner left on low is enough. Turn everything off, then start the cycle.

Still showing Cooktop in use?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
