Samsung stove shows C-10 during a SmartThings check

Samsung says C-10 can appear when you run a self-diagnosis of the oven from the SmartThings app and the oven starts out very cold or very hot.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Samsung's own guidance for C-10 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

If C-10 appeared only during the app test and the oven heats normally, you can ignore it.

02

Let the oven reach room temperature and run the diagnosis again if you want a clean result.

03

If C-10 appears during normal cooking, reset the stove at the breaker and book a visit if it returns.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

C-10 is not a sign that the oven sensor is failing when it shows only during the app test. It matters only if it appears on its own while you cook.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems C-10 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about C-10.

Can I clear C-10 myself?
If C-10 appeared only during the app test and the oven heats normally, you can ignore it.
My Samsung stove showed C-10 during the SmartThings test. Is the oven broken?
Not if it bakes normally. Samsung says the code can come from a very hot or very cold oven at the start of the test.
When should I worry about C-10 on my Samsung?
If it shows up on its own while you cook, without the app test running. Then reset the stove and book a visit if it comes back.
Should I run the Samsung self-diagnosis right after baking?
It is better to wait until the oven has cooled to room temperature, since a hot start is one of the conditions that can bring up C-10.

Back to your everyday

Still showing C-10?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
