What FD
actually means.
FD relates to the temperature probe you push into a roast and plug into a socket inside the oven. GE says either the probe or that socket may have to be replaced.
Café stove display
What to do when FD shows on the stoveKind of codeTemperature sensor
The thin probe on the back wall of the oven sent the stove a reading it would not trust, or one that kept climbing past the setting. A loose plug behind the stove or a probe knocked against the racks is ruled out before the sensor or the board is replaced. If the oven keeps getting hotter with the controls turned off, switch the stove off at its breaker first.

The oven part of a stove that stays cold, heats slowly or bakes too hot or too cool, fixed at the bake and broil elements, the oven igniter, the gas valve or the temperature sensor.

Recipes take much longer or much less time than they should, cakes burn on the outside and stay raw inside, or an oven thermometer disagrees with the display by more than a little.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Café's own guidance for FD on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Unplug the probe from the oven wall and check the plug and cable for damage.
Wipe the socket area once the oven is cool and try again without the probe.
If FD shows even with the probe removed, book a visit to check the socket.

What not to do
