What 007
actually means.

The user panel collects the heat readings from every eR7 zone through its thermocouples. Code 007 says the panel can no longer make sense of those readings, and because every plate and oven depends on them, AGA's remedy when 007 keeps returning is a new user panel.

What to do when 007 shows on the stove

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for 007 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Write down 007 exactly as the handset shows it, with the warning triangle.

02

Note whether the plates and ovens are still heating, or cooling off.

03

Book a visit; the code is logged and cleared first, and the user panel is replaced if 007 returns.

What not to do

007 is not a single failed probe in one oven. It concerns the panel that reads all the probes, which is why it can affect the whole cooker at once.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems 007 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

Questions
about 007.

Can I clear 007 myself?
Write down 007 exactly as the handset shows it, with the warning triangle. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My AGA handset shows 7 instead of 007. Is it the same code?
Yes. AGA's service manual calls it error 7, and it concerns the user panel's ability to read the thermocouples. Note it either way and book a visit.
Will a new thermocouple fix 007 on my AGA eR7?
Usually not. AGA ties 007 to the user panel that processes the thermocouple signals, and it names the panel, not the probes, as the replacement.
Is it safe to keep using my AGA with 007 showing?
Without trustworthy sensor readings the cooker cannot hold its zones at the right heat. Stop relying on it for cooking and book a visit.

Still showing 007?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
