01

Turn the griddle zone off and let it cool.

02

Make sure the griddle plate sits flat and in its proper place.

03

Flip the stove's breaker off, count 30 seconds, then flip it on.

It usually turns into glass stovetop repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F51 is not a general stovetop shutdown. It belongs to the griddle zone, so the other burners or zones can often still be used.

Questions
about F51.

Can I clear F51 myself?
Turn the griddle zone off and let it cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I cook on the other zones of my LG with F51?
Usually yes, because F51 names the griddle. Leave the griddle off until it is checked.
What is the difference between F56 and F59 on my LG?
F56 is a heating error on the griddle and F59 means it is not reaching its heat properly. Both lead to the griddle's heating part and its control.
My LG griddle warms unevenly but shows no code. Is that the same problem?
Not necessarily. Uneven heat without a code can be the plate or pan fit; a code points to the sensor or heater.

Still showing F51?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
