What F1
actually means.
LG lists both F1 and F2 as an upper oven thermistor error. The thermistor is the probe on the oven's back wall that tells the control how hot it is; on a single-oven LG it is simply the oven sensor. Without a believable reading, the oven stops heating.

The thin probe on the back wall of the oven sent the stove a reading it would not trust, or one that kept climbing past the setting. A loose plug behind the stove or a probe knocked against the racks is ruled out before the sensor or the board is replaced. If the oven keeps getting hotter with the controls turned off, switch the stove off at its breaker first.
