Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for E2 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the zone off and wait until the glass is cool.

02

Check for a pan that boiled dry and clear anything packed tightly around the stove.

03

Should E2 come back during everyday cooking, book a visit so the installation and airflow can be checked.

What not to do

E2 is not a cracked glass or a dead coil. It is a heat warning from the electronics, and it can be triggered by the installation or a dry pan rather than a failed part.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems E2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E2.

Can I clear E2 myself?
Switch the zone off and wait until the glass is cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My AGA Elise showed E2 after a pot boiled dry. What now?
A pot that boiled dry is one of the triggers AGA names for E2. Lift it off and wait for the top to cool completely, and it should clear; if E2 comes back with a filled pan, book a visit.
E2 keeps returning on my AGA Mercury induction top. Why?
Repeated E2 points AGA toward the installation and ventilation. A stove boxed in too tightly may run its electronics hot, so book a visit to have the installation checked.
Is it safe to use the other AGA induction zones while E2 is up?
Let the whole top cool first, since E2 concerns the shared electronic unit. Once it clears, cook as normal and watch whether it returns.

Still showing E2?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
