What F1
actually means.
Bosch shows F1 or F6 when a zone overheats and switches off to protect the glass. An empty pan left on high or a pan boiled dry is a common cause.

What to do when F1 shows on the stoveKind of codeStovetop elements
A burner on an electric or induction stovetop did not heat the way the knob or key asked, heated with nothing set, or ran hotter than the setting. The pan, a lock left on and the switch behind the knob are checked before the element under the glass, its limiter or an induction board is changed. If a burner keeps heating after it has been switched off, turn the stove's breaker off before anything else.
Usually leads toGlass stovetop repair
Smooth glass stovetops on electric and induction stoves with a cold circle, a cracked or chipped top, or a hot-surface light that stays on, repaired under the glass or with a new top.
Shows up asStovetop Not Heating
The burners on an electric, glass or induction stovetop stay cold or warm up only a little, sometimes all of them and sometimes two on one side, while the oven below may still work.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for F1 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Take the pan off the zone and let the glass and electronics cool.
Set the zone again once it has cooled, and keep cooking.
Book a visit if F1 or F6 returns with a normal pan and normal use.
What not to do
F1 does not mean the zone missed your pan. It found the pan fine, then ran too hot beneath it.
What you may
notice with it.
The stove problems F1 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.
