What 010-014
actually means.

Codes 010 to 014 are a full-power time-out: one zone was driven flat out and did not get to its target in the time the control allows. AGA says the cause is often the way the cooker was used, such as a cold plain shelf left in the simmering oven during warm-up, oversized pans or cooking before the cooker was up to heat.

What to do when 010-014 shows on the stove

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for 010-014 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let the cooker reach working heat before you start cooking.

02

Take any cold plain shelf out of the simmering oven while it heats, and keep the oven doors shut.

03

Use pans that suit the plate; if the code returns with ordinary use, book a visit.

What not to do

A time-out code is not proof that an element has burned out. AGA's own list of causes starts with how the cooker was used, so the first answer may be a change of habit rather than a part.

Questions
about 010-014.

Can I clear 010-014 myself?
Let the cooker reach working heat before you start cooking. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why did my AGA show 012 during a big holiday cook?
Codes 010 to 014 mean a zone ran at full power too long without reaching its heat, and heavy use is a common cause: oversized pans, doors opened often or cooking before warm-up. Let the cooker recover and see if the code stays away with normal use.
Does leaving the plain shelf in my AGA simmering oven cause a time-out code?
It can. AGA lists a cold plain shelf left in the simmering oven during warm-up as one cause, because it soaks up heat the oven is trying to build.
When is a time-out code on my AGA eR7 a repair and not a habit?
When it keeps returning even though the cooker was up to heat, the doors stayed shut and the pans suited the plate. Then book a visit so the element and the thermocouple position can be checked.

Still showing 010-014?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
