Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for 020-024 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Note the exact number, since it narrows down which zone is involved.

02

Watch which plate or oven seems to overshoot or lag, and tell the technician.

03

Book a visit; the two readings are watched at cooking heat with service software before the probe is changed.

It usually turns into stove oven heating repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

A drifting probe does not always show itself when the cooker is cold. AGA notes these probes can test fine at room temperature and only separate once hot, so a quick check on a cool cooker can miss it.

Questions
about 020-024.

Can I clear 020-024 myself?
Note the exact number, since it narrows down which zone is involved. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my AGA only show 021 once it is hot?
According to AGA, these probes often test fine on a cold cooker and only separate once they are at cooking heat. So the code tends to show after warm-up, and a technician tests the probe hot.
Is the same probe used in every zone of my AGA eR7?
Yes. AGA uses one duplex thermocouple type for all zones, so a replacement is not tied to one plate or oven, though the technician still confirms which zone is drifting.
Can my AGA eR7 keep cooking with a code in the 020s?
The zone may run too hot or too cool because its sensor readings disagree. Avoid relying on that plate or oven for anything precise and book a visit.

Still showing 020-024?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
