Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from GE's own guidance for F2 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Switch the stove off at the breaker right away.

02

Keep the oven door shut if you see smoke, and let the stove cool completely.

03

Book a visit before using the oven again; the burners may be used briefly with the breaker on if they are needed.

What not to do

F2 is not a reminder that self-clean is running or that the door was left open. It is a real overheat reading, and GE treats it more seriously than the keypanel codes.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems F2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

Questions
about F2.

Can I clear F2 myself?
Switch the stove off at the breaker right away. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Is F2 on a GE stove dangerous?
It means the oven ran hotter than it should, so treat it as a safety stop. Cut the power at the breaker, let everything cool, and do not start another bake until it has been checked.
Why does my GE show F20 while my neighbor's showed F2?
Different GE controls print the same overheat code with or without the zero. Both mean the oven passed GE's preset temperature limit.
Can a dirty oven set off F2 on a GE during self-clean?
GE does not name a cause for F2. Heavy grease can smoke and flare during a clean, so cancel, let it cool, and have the heating controls tested before cleaning again.

Still showing F2?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
