Wolf stove
showing PF

PF in the knob window of an older Wolf dual-fuel stove means the power went out, or the oven is too hot for the cooking mode you picked.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for PF on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the oven selector bezel to a cooking mode and then back to OFF to clear PF.

02

If the oven was just used at high heat, open the door for a few minutes so the cavity can cool.

03

If PF will not clear, switch the breaker off for 30 seconds and back on; book a visit if it still returns.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

PF is not an error inside the oven control. Once the power is steady and the oven is cool enough for the mode, it should go away.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems PF tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. Older Wolf dual-fuel stoves whose oven selector knob has a small display window. The newer dual-fuel models report four-character codes instead.

Questions
about PF.

Can I clear PF myself?
Turn the oven selector bezel to a cooking mode and then back to OFF to clear PF.
Why does my Wolf stove show PF every morning?
PF appears after the power drops, so a stove on a circuit with brief outages overnight can show it again and again. If the power has been steady, book a visit to check the supply to the stove.
Can PF show on a Wolf stove even without an outage?
Yes. Wolf also lists PF when the oven is too hot for the mode you selected, such as switching to a gentle mode right after broiling.
How do I clear PF from the knob on my Wolf stove?
Move the selector bezel into a cooking mode, then return it to OFF. That tells the control you have seen the message.

Back to your everyday

Still showing PF?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
