What ERR OC
actually means.
ERR OC in the knob window of an older Wolf dual-fuel stove means the knob stopped talking to the oven controller. Wolf's own fix starts with the metal contacts on the knob stem.
Wolf stove display
What to do when ERR OC shows on the stoveKind of codeKnobs, keys and display
A key on the panel was held down too long, reported a press nobody made, or stopped answering; or a knob's switch told the stove it was on when it was off. Water, a spill or grease worked in behind a knob is ruled out first, then the switch, the key panel and the cable to the board. If a burner keeps heating while the keys or knobs do nothing, switch the stove off at the breaker.
Usually leads toKnob and switch replacement
Stove knobs that are cracked, loose or spin in place, and the switches behind them that leave a burner stuck on high or dead, replaced at the knob, the stem or the switch.
Shows up asStove Knob Broken or Loose
A knob spins without doing anything, wobbles, falls off in your hand, has cracked, or will not turn at all, so you cannot set a burner or the oven properly.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for ERR OC on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Switch the stove's breaker off.
Pull off the oven selector knob that shows ERR OC, make sure the metal contacts on its stem are clean and dry, and push it firmly back on.
Turn the breaker back on; if ERR OC returns, book a visit.
Still there?
It usually turns into knob and switch replacement. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
ERR OC is not a sign that the oven cannot heat. It is a communication problem between the knob and the control behind it.
What you may
notice with it.
The stove problems ERR OC tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.
