Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from GE's own guidance for ⊃ on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the owner's manual for how your model enters and leaves Sabbath Mode.

02

Turn Sabbath Mode off and set the oven as usual.

03

If the backwards C will not go away, reset the breaker; book a visit only if the mode cannot be cleared.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

The backwards C is not a stuck or broken segment in the display. It is the symbol GE uses for Sabbath Mode.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems ⊃ tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about ⊃.

Can I clear ⊃ myself?
Check the owner's manual for how your model enters and leaves Sabbath Mode.
Why does my GE oven seem not to work with a backwards C showing?
In Sabbath Mode the oven does not beep or show changes the way it normally does. Turn the mode off and it will respond as usual.
How does Sabbath Mode get turned on by accident on a GE?
It is set by a pad sequence or a hold on the panel, which can happen while cleaning or pressing pads. The manual lists the exact steps for your model.
Can Sabbath Mode make my GE display look blank?
GE's manual lists Sabbath Mode as one reason the oven seems not to work or the display goes blank. Check for it before assuming the control has failed.

Still showing ⊃?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
