Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from GE's own guidance for Bad Line on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Do not keep switching the stove on and off to test it.

02

Turn the breaker off.

03

Have an installer or electrician check the power cord or junction box connection, then book a visit if the stove still misbehaves once the wiring is correct.

Still there?

It usually turns into control board and display repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

Bad Line is not a broken stove or a failed control board. The appliance is reporting a mistake in how it is connected to the house.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems Bad Line tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

Questions
about Bad Line.

Can I clear Bad Line myself?
Do not keep switching the stove on and off to test it. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my GE stove show Bad Line after we moved?
Moving means the power cord was reconnected, often to a different outlet or cord kit. Bad Line tells you that connection is wrong, not that the stove was damaged in the move.
Is Bad Line on a GE stove something I can fix myself?
It is a wiring job at the terminal block or outlet, so GE sends it to an installer or electrician. Keep the breaker off until then.
Will a new power cord clear Bad Line on my GE?
Only if the old cord was wired wrong. The fix is a correct connection, which an installer or electrician checks.

Still showing Bad Line?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
