Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ILVE's own guidance for U on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look at the knob first: between off and 1 are the warming settings, not a cooking power.

02

With the knob on a real power level, put a pan that a magnet grips firmly in the middle of the zone.

03

If U stays with a suitable pan on a power level, book a visit.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

U is rarely a broken zone. It is often a warming setting chosen by accident, or a pan the zone cannot heat.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems U tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about U.

Can I clear U myself?
Look at the knob first: between off and 1 are the warming settings, not a cooking power.
My ILVE shows U and the pot barely warms. Is the knob on warming?
Quite possibly. The U position just past off holds food at 149°F, which will not boil anything. Turn the knob to a power level.
Why does my ILVE show a small u instead of a capital U?
The lower-case u marks the 108°F warming position, the gentler of the two warming settings.
My ILVE warming setting switched itself off. Why?
ILVE limits both warming functions to 120 minutes, after which they end. Set it again if you need more time.

Still showing U?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
