ILVE induction displays
showing LLLL

Four L letters across the displays mean ILVE's key-lock function is active: every zone is off and cannot be started by accident.

Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ILVE's own guidance for LLLL on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn every knob to 0.

02

Repeat the two-knob counterclockwise turn given in your manual until OF appears.

03

Set your zone again once the lock is off.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

LLLL is not a sign that the knobs or the board have failed. It is a child-safety lock, often switched on by accident while cleaning.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems LLLL tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

In ILVE's own words

The letters [L][L][L][L] appear on the display. The Key-lock function is deactivated by repeating the same operation.

Questions
about LLLL.

Can I clear LLLL myself?
Turn every knob to 0.
My ILVE shows LLLL and nothing turns on. How do I unlock it?
With every knob at 0, turn the two knobs your manual names counterclockwise at the same time. OF appears when the lock is released.
Which two knobs unlock my ILVE induction top?
ILVE's manuals name different pairs in different places, controls 1 and 2 or 2 and 3, so check the page for your model.
Why do the L letters come back when I turn a knob on my ILVE?
If a knob is turned while the lock is on, ILVE shows the L letters again. Release the lock first, then set the zone.

Still showing LLLL?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
