Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from ZLINE's own guidance for E/2 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let the stove cool.

02

Check that nothing is blocking its ventilation.

03

Book a visit if E/2 will not go away after cooling.

Still there?

It usually turns into glass stovetop repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E/2 is a heat warning, not a failed transistor; that would be F/4. It usually clears once the stove cools and air can move again.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems E/2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E/2.

Can I clear E/2 myself?
Let the stove cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my ZLINE show E/2 when I boil pasta on high?
Long cooking at maximum power heats the transistor that drives the coil. Let it cool, then use a slightly lower setting once the water boils.
Does E/2 mean my ZLINE transistor is broken?
No. E/2 means it got too hot. A failed transistor shows as F/4 instead.
Could my ZLINE's installation cause E/2?
ZLINE lists poor cooling airflow as a cause, so a stove fitted too tightly can run hotter. Book a visit if E/2 keeps returning.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E/2?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
