Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from La Cornue's own guidance for L on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Make sure every zone is switched off.

02

On a CornuFé, repeat the two-knob turn described in the guide to release the lock; on a Château, switch the locking function off as your guide shows.

03

Set the zone again once L has gone.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

L is not a failure of the knobs or the board. It is a deliberate safety setting, often turned on by accident.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems L tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about L.

Can I clear L myself?
Make sure every zone is switched off.
My CornuFé shows L and the burners will not turn on. Is it broken?
The child lock is set, which is what L means. With every zone off, turn the two left-hand knobs counterclockwise together, as the guide describes, to release it.
Can I bake in my CornuFé while the induction top is locked?
Yes. La Cornue says locking the top does not affect the oven, which can still be used.
How did the lock turn on by itself on my La Cornue?
It is set by turning the two left-hand knobs counterclockwise at the same time, which can happen by accident while cleaning or reaching across. Release it the same way.

Back to your everyday

Still showing L?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
