Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from La Cornue's own guidance for U on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Hold a magnet to the pan's base. Cast iron, steel and magnetic stainless will work; copper, aluminum, glass and ceramic will not.

02

Use a pan wide enough for the zone, since a pan that is too small will not be detected.

03

Set the pan in the middle of the zone, and book a visit if U remains with a pan that should work.

What not to do

Most of the time U has nothing to do with a failed zone. It usually points to the pan, whether its material or its size.

What you may
notice with it.

Questions
about U.

Can I clear U myself?
Hold a magnet to the pan's base. Cast iron, steel and magnetic stainless will work; copper, aluminum, glass and ceramic will not. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My copper pans show U on the Château induction plate. Why?
La Cornue excludes copper from its induction zones, along with aluminum, glass and ceramic. Switch to a pan that a magnet grips firmly.
A small saucepan shows U on my Château. Is the zone broken?
Probably not. La Cornue says a pan with too small a diameter will not work on the zone, so try a wider magnetic pan first.
When does U on a La Cornue Château mean a repair?
When a flat, magnetic pan of the right size is centered on the zone and U still shows. Then book a visit so the zone's detection can be tested.

Still showing U?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
