What F5
actually means.
F5 on a Bosch induction stove means a hot pan is too close to the controls. If the power level flashes and a tone sounds, the electronics are at risk; if the zone also switches off, they have been protected.

What to do when F5 shows on the stoveKind of codeStovetop elements
A burner on an electric or induction stovetop did not heat the way the knob or key asked, heated with nothing set, or ran hotter than the setting. The pan, a lock left on and the switch behind the knob are checked before the element under the glass, its limiter or an induction board is changed. If a burner keeps heating after it has been switched off, turn the stove's breaker off before anything else.
Usually leads toGlass stovetop repair
Smooth glass stovetops on electric and induction stoves with a cold circle, a cracked or chipped top, or a hot-surface light that stays on, repaired under the glass or with a new top.
Shows up asStove Display Blank or Flashing
The clock and display on the stove have gone dark, or they flash the time, a word or a string of characters and ignore the keys you press.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Bosch's own guidance for F5 on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Move the hot pan away from the control panel.
Give it a few seconds and tap any key.
Carry on cooking once the code clears; book a visit if F5 appears with nothing near the controls.
What not to do
F5 says nothing is wrong with the touch keys. Sliding the pan back where it belongs usually ends it.
What you may
notice with it.
The stove problems F5 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.
