Book a visit

Three short steps, about a minute.

or call (844) 415-7620

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Whirlpool's own guidance for H on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Keep hands and plastic items off the area while H is showing.

02

Let the stovetop cool.

03

If H stays lit or flashes long after the stove is cold, cut power for one minute; if it persists, book a visit.

Cleared?

The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.

What not to do

H is not an error in the element. It is the stove doing its job of warning you about stored heat.

What you may
notice with it.

The stove problems H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the stove before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Something the stove was switched into, often by accident, rather than something that broke: a control lock pressed while wiping the panel, a Sabbath setting, a showroom demo mode that lights the display and heats nothing, a reminder that a spot on the stovetop is still hot. No part is worn out, and the stove's own keys put it right.

Questions
about H.

Can I clear H myself?
Keep hands and plastic items off the area while H is showing.
How long does H stay on after cooking on my Whirlpool?
Until the glass cools to a safe temperature. After a long, high-heat session that can take a while.
My Whirlpool shows H on an element I never used. Why?
Heat spreads through the glass from a neighboring area or a hot pan set down on it. If H shows on a cold stove, reset power and book a visit if it stays.
Is H on a Whirlpool a good reason to keep kids away from the stove?
Yes. It means the glass can still burn, even though nothing is glowing.

Back to your everyday

Still showing H?

Book with the code written exactly as the stove shows it, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or hot wiring — when there is a code, that is where the diagnosis starts.
