In Miele's Demo mode you can move through the display and sensor buttons, but the oven does not heat. It is a showroom setting found under the Showroom Program menu.

Open Settings on the display.
Go to Showroom Program, then Demo Mode, and set it to Off.
Run a bake for a few minutes; if the oven stays cold, book a visit.
Cleared?
The stove is working again and no part was needed. If the same letters come back while a burner or the oven is on, or the stove switches itself off again in the middle of dinner, book it as a new problem.
