Err 03 on an older Wolf dual-fuel stove means the control sees an open circuit on its RTD oven sensor, so it cannot tell how hot the oven is. Owners often notice the cooling fan running on and on at the same time. Wolf stove display · also shown as Err 03, Err 3 What to do when 03 shows on the stove ### Kind of code Temperature sensor The thin probe on the back wall of the oven sent the stove a reading it would not trust, or one that kept climbing past the setting. A loose plug behind the stove or a probe knocked against the racks is ruled out before the sensor or the board is replaced. If the oven keeps getting hotter with the controls turned off, switch the stove off at its breaker first. ### Usually leads to Stove oven heating repair The oven part of a stove that stays cold, heats slowly or bakes too hot or too cool, fixed at the bake and broil elements, the oven igniter, the gas valve or the temperature sensor. ### Shows up as Oven on My Stove Won't Heat Up The burners on top work, but the oven underneath stays cold, heats only a little, or never reaches the temperature you set. ### Make Wolf A Sub-Zero Group cooking brand from Wisconsin; owners often know it on sight by its red knobs. ### Source Wolf answer: legacy dual-fuel, error code 03 Older Wolf dual-fuel stoves whose oven selector knob has a small display window. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Shut the oven off and wait for it to cool. 02 Switch the breaker to the stove off for 30 seconds, then back on, and try a short bake. 03 If Err 03 or the nonstop fan returns, book a visit for the sensor and its connector. ### Still there? Shut the oven off and wait for it to cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does the fan on my Wolf stove keep running when the oven is off? On older Wolf dual-fuel models, Wolf lists a nonstop cooling fan alongside Err 03. Without a sensor reading, the control keeps the fan going to protect the parts around the oven. ### Is Err 03 on a Wolf stove the sensor itself or the wiring? It can be either. The control only sees an open loop, which a burned sensor, a loose plug at the back of the oven or a damaged wire can all cause. ### What is the difference between Err 03 and Err 04 on a Wolf stove? Err 03 is an open circuit on the oven sensor and Err 04 is a short. Both stop the oven from reading temperature, but they point the technician at different problems in the same circuit. --- **[Read on the site: Wolf stove showing Err 03 and a fan that will not stop](https://stoverepair.center/error-codes/wolf-03/)** **[Book a visit with StoveRepair.center](https://stoverepair.center/schedule/)**
