On an electric stove a bake or broil element that has burned through is the everyday reason; on a gas stove the oven igniter and the valve it opens are looked at first. Press Off/Clear and restart the oven. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My Kenmore gas stove burners work but the oven shows E3. Why? The oven has its own burner and igniter. E3 means that part is not producing heat. ### Is E3 on my Kenmore the same as E03? No. On older models E03 is a high-temperature warning, while E3 here means the oven cannot heat. ### Can I still use the stovetop with E3? The code concerns the oven.
