GE stove display What to do when ERR shows on the stove ### Kind of code Knobs, keys and display A key on the panel was held down too long, reported a press nobody made, or stopped answering; or a knob's switch told the stove it was on when it was off. Water, a spill or grease worked in behind a knob is ruled out first, then the switch, the key panel and the cable to the board. Press Cancel/Off to clear the entry. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my GE stove say ERR when I set 550 degrees? The value may be above what that mode allows. Check the temperature limits for the mode in the owner's manual and enter it again. ### Can a sticky pad cause ERR on a GE? Yes. A pad that registers twice or not at all can turn a normal entry into an invalid one. ### Is ERR the same on a GE as the F codes?
