Behind the top left door of an eR7 sits the touch panel you use to turn each plate and oven on, and that panel has a processor of its own. FE is the panel telling you that chip has frozen or is behaving wrongly, so your taps are no longer reaching the heat zones. AGA stove display What to do when FE shows on the stove ### Kind of code Knobs, keys and display A key on the panel was held down too long, reported a press nobody made, or stopped answering; or a knob's switch told the stove it was on when it was off. Water, a spill or grease worked in behind a knob is ruled out first, then the switch, the key panel and the cable to the board. If a burner keeps heating while the keys or knobs do nothing, switch the stove off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Knob and switch replacement Stove knobs that are cracked, loose or spin in place, and the switches behind them that leave a burner stuck on high or dead, replaced at the knob, the stem or the switch. ### Shows up as Stove Error Code The stove shows letters and numbers, a flashing symbol or a short message, beeps, and the oven or a burner stops or will not start. ### Make AGA A British name in home cooking, part of the Middleby group, best known for the cast-iron stove that stays warm all day. ### Source AGA eR7 field service manual, USA and Canada (AGA owner's guides library) AGA eR7 100 and 150 cast-iron cookers sold in the US and Canada; FE is one of three letter codes the eR7 touch panel shows itself. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for FE on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Write down FE and which plates or ovens were switched on when it appeared. 02 Leave the cast iron alone; it holds its heat for a long time even if the panel has stopped listening. 03 Book a visit: AGA's service manual says a restart may clear it, and the panel is checked or replaced if FE returns. ### Still there? It usually turns into [knob and switch replacement](https://stoverepair.center/services/knob-and-switch-replacement/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do FE says nothing about a burned-out element or a cold oven. The plates and ovens may be heating perfectly well while the panel that controls them has simply stopped taking commands. ## What you may notice with it. The stove problems FE tends to arrive with. Write down FE and which plates or ovens were switched on when it appeared. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can I restart my AGA eR7 myself when the panel shows FE? AGA's service manual says a reboot may clear FE, but it gives that step to the technician. Note the code and what was on, and book a visit so the panel is restarted and tested in one trip. ### Are my AGA ovens still hot while FE is on the panel? They can be. Cast iron keeps its heat for hours, and FE concerns the panel's processor rather than the elements, so treat every surface as hot until you know otherwise. ### Does FE on an eR7 mean the whole cooker needs a new board? Not necessarily. FE points at the touch panel's own chip, which sits behind the top left door, not at the main board in the base. The panel is the part examined first. --- **[Read on the site: AGA eR7 cast-iron stove showing FE | StoveRepair.center](https://stoverepair.center/error-codes/aga-fe/)** **[Book a visit with StoveRepair.center](https://stoverepair.center/schedule/)**
