An eR7 has two control boards: the touch panel near the top and the main board in the base, joined by a communication cable that runs inside the cooker. CE means the panel has lost its conversation with the main board, so the cable and its two sockets are the first things suspected. AGA stove display What to do when CE shows on the stove ### Kind of code Control board and power The main board failed its own start-up check, lost contact with the display, or saw the supply voltage sag too low, often after a storm, a power outage or a spill that ran down behind the panel. The breaker, the cord and the outlet are ruled out before a board is replaced. A stove that sparks, smells of hot wiring or keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker first. ### Usually leads to Control board and display repair Stoves with a blank or flashing display, touch keys that do not answer, codes that keep returning or a stove that will not turn on, traced to the board, the keypad or the power to them. ### Shows up as Stove Error Code The stove shows letters and numbers, a flashing symbol or a short message, beeps, and the oven or a burner stops or will not start. ### Make AGA A British name in home cooking, part of the Middleby group, best known for the cast-iron stove that stays warm all day. ### Source AGA eR7 field service manual, USA and Canada (AGA owner's guides library) eR7 cast-iron cookers; the communication cable runs from the main board in the base to the panel behind the top left door. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for CE on its stoves. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Note CE and whether anyone has recently moved the cooker or worked behind its panels. 02 Check that the cooker has power at all: other lights, the handset link and the breaker. 03 Book a visit so the communication cable and both sockets can be checked before either board is blamed. ### Still there? It usually turns into [control board and display repair](https://stoverepair.center/services/control-board-and-display-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do CE does not mean a plate or oven element has failed. It is a break in communication between two boards, and the elements may be perfectly fine once the link is restored. ## What you may notice with it. The stove problems CE tends to arrive with. Note CE and whether anyone has recently moved the cooker or worked behind its panels. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My AGA eR7 showed CE right after it was moved. Are the two linked? They can be. The communication cable between the panel and the main board runs inside the cooker, and AGA's first check for CE is that cable and its sockets. Tell us about the move when booking. ### Is CE on an AGA eR7 the same as the handset losing its signal? No. CE is the touch panel failing to hear back from the main board inside the cooker; a handset out of range or on flat batteries is a separate issue with its own signs. ### Will the AGA eR7 keep heating while CE is showing? You should not count on it. With the panel and main board out of touch, the zones cannot be set reliably, so plan other cooking and book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: AGA eR7 cast-iron stove showing CE | StoveRepair.center](https://stoverepair.center/error-codes/aga-ce/)** **[Book a visit with StoveRepair.center](https://stoverepair.center/schedule/)**
