JennAir's 30-inch slide-in stoves and its professional-style stoves read their codes differently, one on a display and one through knob lights. The model label tells us which list applies before we look at any part. ### Codes in blinking knob lights JennAir's professional-style stoves have no text display for errors. Amber lights with a tone mean a code is stored, and the Wi-Fi and Remote lights with the knob flashes spell out the F and E numbers. ### A blank clock is often a setting Some JennAir stoves have an Energy Save mode that shows ES and then blanks the display after five idle minutes. Holding CLOCK for 10 seconds turns it off, so a dark display is not always a dead control. ### The stovetop protects itself On JennAir electric and induction stoves, C81, C82 and C83 mean the cooking surface overheated and shut off. Turning off the oven and waiting five minutes is JennAir's first step. ### A one-minute reset first For most F codes JennAir asks owners to switch the breaker off for a full minute and watch for the code for a minute after. We ask owners to try that before a visit, and to tell us if the code came back. Parts Oven controls, door latch assemblies and cooling fans are matched to the model.
