# Technical team behind the guides.

The people who come to your kitchen when a stove visit is booked on this site. They write from what they find behind the storage drawer, under the stovetop and inside the oven of stoves in everyday homes, and they check it against the maker's own manuals whenever a manual is available.

## Who writes the guides.

What you read about stoves here is written by the technicians who answer stove calls in ordinary kitchens: houses, apartments and rentals. They start from the questions owners ask us most, such as why a burner stays on high, why the stove keeps clicking after the flame is lit, why a coil burner has gone cold, or why the oven part of the stove will not warm up.

We do not cover stoves we do not work on, and we do not print codes that no maker has published. When a manual or a safety agency addresses a point, the page links to it; when something comes only from our own time at people's stoves, the page makes that clear.

## How a guide is written.

Four rules every guide on this site follows, from the first question to the last revision.

01

### From the questions owners ask

Topics come from how people describe their stove when they book, and from the small things worth trying first, like reseating a burner cap, drying a wet igniter or checking whether a lock is on.

02

### Checked with the maker's manuals

Model details, hookup needs for gas and power, and what a code on the display means are taken from the owner's manual, installation sheet or service papers the maker publishes, with a link next to the line that relies on them.

03

### Safety in the words of the agencies

What we write about a gas smell, a grease fire, burns, children near the knobs or a stove that tips follows the CPSC and similar agencies, quoted in their terms and linked so you can read the original.

04

### Dated and kept current

Each stove page shows when it was first published and when it last changed, and we revise it when a maker or an agency updates the page we point to.

## Questions about the guides.

### Who writes the stove guides on this site?

The technicians who go out on the stove repairs booked here. What they see in people's kitchens is checked against the makers' published manuals wherever those exist.

### Does any stove maker pay for or approve these guides?

No. We are an independent repair business, and no manufacturer sponsors, edits or signs off on what we write.

### I think a stove guide has something wrong. What do I do?

Tell us through the contact page which guide it is and which line looks wrong. After we check it, we correct the page and its updated date changes with it.
